This training plan is for an athlete who is training to run for the first time and will prepare the athlete to complete the 5K distance. This plan starts with a 20 minute walk and gradually builds using a run/walk alternation. The plan trains 4 days per week. This plan includes core bodyweight strength exercises that are optional.
